Story out of Missouri says that a real estate broker stole a home from a man in Missouri. Property was in Illinios…what’s up with this?

Thoughts

1. Ever seen one of those ads for “buy your home guaranteed”? It’s a huge conflict of interest in my opinion, so we don’t do it. In this case, you have a real estate broker meeting with either her client, or a seller…but in what capacity is the broker acting? Buyer or listing agent? It matters, because one is for the broker benefit and one is for the seller benefit.

2. Odd to see a broker from St. Francis County working with a seller in St. Louis county to buy a property in Illinois. There’s 90 miles separation between St. Louis County and St. Francis County…and as an example…I’m not even licensed in Illinois…surprised she might be.

3. MREC(Missouri Real Estate Commission) has no discipline against her broker license….as if she is a repeat offender…however…there could be instances where people are afraid to make a complaint, and if the broker is committing a crime…that is what a criminal investigation is for. The oversight of the MREC is parallel to a criminal investigation
