Template Design Group, 2022-007-07 Meeting, Mission Statement

MEETING SUMMARY:

Attendees: Mike, Scott, Lisa, Larry

Tonight we examined three mission statements from Scott, Mike and Larry. We agreed to work with Scott's. After much discussion, we agreed on the following for an initial template mission statement.

"Our Survival Team exists as a cohesive group of like-minded people to provide a secure, organized, productive environment in which to share skills, knowledge, resources, and mutual support in an effort to prosper during good and bad times, and to ultimately preserve a free society based on faith and principles similar to those of the American founding."

We agreed to work on vetting criteria

ACTION ITEMS:

- Mike: put the initial template mission statement into a document with a definition of a Survival Team and a disambiguation section that explains each part of the mission statement.

- Everyone:
1) Consider the attached vetting criteria and be ready to provide input on both the criteria and the process of vetting potential members. Consider things such as the following. Should the vetting criteria be loose or tight? What types of things should be in the vetting criteria (e.g., politics, religion, health, dietary requirements, extra-group relationships/obligations, spouse on board, minimum level of stored supplies, certain skills/abilities, firearms, etc)?

2) Make a list of attributes of group members that they MUST HAVE and MUST NOT HAVE?
