The livestream today was all over the place. Here are a few highlights of the stream.

First, John was attacked by a garden sprinkler. That is why the thumbnail has him with a shirt that has water spots on it.

He moved on to discuss what it is like being a real estate agent in the current market. While some are thriving, John’s real estate business is off, likely because the market is just so tough on home buyers. It seems like every weekend offers are written only to have them rejected. This is locking up the market for home sellers, as they would surely list their homes for sale if they could actually buy a home to move to.

John then went over the livestream channel and podcast strategy and asked his viewers for their insight. We aren’t getting the views we need on the livestream because we aren’t getting any impressions. Hard to get a thousand people to watch a stream where there are only 2 impressions.

It took quite a bit of back and forth, but John did get a house under contract this week! He goes on to talk about his perception on many agents and how they can be concerned about lowball offers as a buyer’s agent. You never get an offer accepted if you don’t write one though!

The conversation went into a different direction when we look at how class warfare seems to be squeezing the little guy in the housing market. It seems like the lower priced homes are seeing higher accepted offers over asking than more expensive homes on a percentage basis. It’s not good. Buyers on the lower price range need to be aware of what is going on and work with their real estate agents accordingly.

John then talks about what the housing market looks like over the week of the 4th of July. How that holiday can impact the inventory of homes available as many sellers and buyers leave for vacation.

Were you aware they make a running shoe specifically for women? Not just in the design, which is totally obvious. Rather, in the science behind the shoe construction. John thought it quite fascinating.

Towards the end of the show John went over the mortgage rates and he then moved to the featured story for the day. Would you wait hours in line to see a small apartment in New York City? The article details the desperate situation many find themselves in when searching for apartments in the big apple that they could actually afford.

Finally, do you have empathy for real estate agents? It’s a really tough market, especially on the buyer side. Of course, real estate agents get paid to buy and sell houses…but this particular housing market is making that a very challenging endeavor!
