Counties can't be independent in the state of Independence
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
The Pennsylvania Department of State is suing three counties over the last primary election.
Pennsylvania law requires absentee and mail-in ballots be dated on the outside envelope by the voter.
The three Republican-controlled counties don't want to count the ballots that were not dated as required.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 says the government should not deny citizens the right to vote “because of an error or omission.”
We all know that Federal law trumps state law. So, why make the law in question?
In fact, how can there be any laws about mail-in voting?
Forgot the date - omission, count it anyway
Didn't mail it in time - error, still counts
It has become too much to expect people to follow rules at all.
