Armed Suspect Opens Fire On NYPD Officers During Foot Pursuit Before Being Shot In Chest

An armed suspect, later identified as Malik Williams, had fled on foot from a traffic stop around 7:40 p.m. on July 9th and led an officer on a chase that lasted more than three blocks. Williams was captured on video shooting at the pursuing officer, luckily without striking anyone. The suspect was later shot in the chest by police, where he died at the hospital from the sustained gunshot wound.
