Tears as Swedish, Finnish NATO expansion approved

The delegates of Sweden and Finland were moved to tears as the German parliament voted on Friday (July 8) to accept Sweden and Finland as the newest members of NATO. Representatives of NATO member states had officially signed the accession protocols for the two countries last Tuesday (June 28) during the NATO summit in Madrid, Spain.
