Media Framing New AZ Law Requiring At Least 8 Feet When Filming Police as Attack on 1st Amendment

In Arizona it was just signed into law that if you are a third party, you need to maintain at least 8 feet while recording police. This is being done not only for the safety of police officers, it is also being done for the safety of those they are interacting with as well. There is no difference between what you can capture on video at 4 feet or 8 feet, but activists are trying to claim that it will make it so people won’t be able to record their interactions with the public and it will allow for the police to get away with things they wouldn’t be able to get away with otherwise prior to this change in the law. Even the ACLU is trying to make this ridiculous claim as well.

In this video we take a look at this law change and the reaction from people who have no clue how cameras work just as well at 2 feet as they do at 8 feet.
