RYOBI JM83K Biscuit Joiner | UNBOX and DEMO! | 2020/22

This is my review of the Ryobi Biscuit Joiner. I just bought this and have been trying it out on a
a custom shadow box I am building that requires a glued-up panel that’s 18” x 24” of 3/4” red oak. While the length wasn’t an issue, they don’t sell 18” wide boards at the local home center, so I have to make my own, by joining multiple boards together.

The job to do this to ensure alignment, a flat and true surface, and the added benefit of a stronger edge joint goes to the biscuit joiner. This tool creates a small horizontal slot in the edge of a board at a consistent level, after which you add glue and small wooden wafers in the slots. The wafers absorb some of the glue, then swell up and the glue dries, locking the two edges together perfectly aligned. It’s almost magic. Who invents this stuff?!

If you are in the market for a biscuit joiner you are going to want to watch this video. This tool is an amazing price point of just $119.00, it is $60 or $80 less than the competing DeWalt and Makita biscuit joiners and produces the exact same results. It’s a no-brainer to buy one, and end of discussion if you are going to be doing glued up panels in your shop, add this to your arsenal!
