The armadillo is a small mammal that is closely related to anteaters and sloths, protecting itself with armor-like bone armor. The armadillo family, widespread in the southern and Southern United States, covers joint bands or cuticular bone plates and can curl into a round ball to protect the whole body. The toes have long claws, love to dig holes, and have nail-like teeth and feed on insects and other invertebrates. The size varies, with giant armadillos about 120 cm long and rare pink fairy armadillos about 12 cm long.
