Hydrodipping RC Lid --- HUGE FAIL !!!!

I saw this video on Mattew simm his channel (see link) and i thought i wanted to try this to because his experiment turned out great.

So bought a Traxxas Maxx lid and some Tamiya paint and went for it ...

But as you will see .... mine didn't work as well as his.
If you guys know what went wrong, please put it in the comments.
