What You Need to Know is the Pledge of Allegiance v. CNN. That is, in the United States, for most of our history we were bound together by patriotism, confirmed by communal patriotic activities. Patriotism is constructive, but the reporting of CNN, et. al. is destructive. That’s their business model. Too many Americans think we need to discuss CNN’s news. That’s FALSE. It’s not what we should be doing. We have to beat back the negative views about America and understand that patriotism is our job as Americans.
