The Word of God is always refreshing. You can handle it from 16 different ways and it still has more light in it than you've touched and therefore it doesn't make any difference how many times you go over it, there's always something that gels, something that effervesces, is something that lives within your soul.

We have learned from the book of Acts chapter 1 and chapter 2 as we were beginning to work these chapters we had cleared the air, you remember? And we had learned from the Word of God without any private interpretation that that which occurred on the day of Pentecost was power from on high. We had also learned that on the day of Pentecost there were only 12 present, 12 apostles, who received the original outpouring. And we've also learned that not only were there just twelve and not only was it power from on high, but that the place of the occurrence of the outpouring of the holy spirit was in the temple. Then we had covered the first 14 or so verses of the first chapter of Acts rather minutely. And through the process we have indicated to you when Judas went out to hang himself.

Now tonight we're going to take this tremendous story of Judas, beginning with the 15th verse of the first chapter and closing with that first chapter and we're going to handle these verses again. Before we read start reading with the 15th verse of the first chapter, let's once again remind ourselves that 40 days after the resurrection is what day? The ascension. Ten days after the ascension is the day of Pentecost.

Now the apostles who were told in Acts chapter 1 that they were to go back to Jerusalem. In verse 4 when Jesus was assembled with them on the day of the ascension He commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem but to go back to Jerusalem and wait. They were to wait for the promise of the father which sayeth He "ye have heard of me." So on the day of the ascension, forty days after the resurrection, on the day of the ascension these apostles returned to Jerusalem. And when they returned they came into the upper room where they lived, where they abode, where they slept. But as we had seen from the Word of God, they went to the temple at the hours of prayer corresponding with our Six am, Nine am, Twelve noon, Three pm, and Six pm. Furthermore we learned also that during that time while they were in Jerusalem they had 10 days to wait for the day of Pentecost. You and I looking back - looking back we can say well we know it was 10 days. But the scripture nowhere told them when it would come. He simply told them to go back to Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the father which sayeth He "Ye have heard of me" for you shall receive power - endued with power after the holy ghost has come upon you. And this is power from on high. This will be yours then shall ye be witnesses unto me both in Judea and Jerusalem and unto the uttermost part of the earth. He had spoken this to them.

But now the one of the great errors is that you and I, looking back, we know it was 10 days. But they looking ahead did not know, understand? This is what you must realize in order to get the full impact of some of the things that occurred in the first chapter of the book of Acts . . .
