Word 1
JESUS, THE MESSIAH & ETERNAL KING Mathew 9:18-26
• Matt 9:18-19 Dr. Luke records this same miracle with much greater detail. He tells us the man's name was Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue. The ruler of the synagogue was a man of tremendous importance. Not only was he in charge of the synagogue, but he would also settle civic disputes within the neighborhood. Synagogue rulers had power and prosperity, influence and impact. Jairus was such a man. Yet he was willing to risk it all and come to Jesus because death had crept into his family. When Jairus came face-to-face with death, he knew what to do. He went to Jesus. He ran the risk of losing his prominent position, his wealth, and his reputation in order to save his daughter's life.

Word 2
JESUS, THE MESSIAH & ETERNAL KING Mathew 9:18-26
• Matt. 9:20-22 This woman had suffered for 12 years with a hemorrhage (perhaps a menstrual disorder). In our times of desperation, we don't have to worry about the correct way to reach out to God. Like this woman, we can simply reach out in faith. He will respond. In Matthew's day, it was believed that there was certain power in the hem of a garment belonging to a rabbi or spiritual leader. "If I could just touch the hem of his garment." This woman probably didn't have the strength to wrestle Him in faith, or to grab hold of Him in belief. Yet she knew if she could even just lightly touch Jesus, she would be healed.

Word 3
JESUS, THE MESSIAH & ETERNAL KING Mathew 9:18-26
• Matt. 9:23-26 The synagogue leader didn't come to Jesus until his daughter was dead—it was too late for anyone else to help. But Jesus simply went to the girl and raised her! In our lives, Christ can make a difference when it seems too late for anyone else to help. He can bring healing to broken relationships, release from addicting habits, and forgiveness and healing to emotional scars. If your situation looks hopeless, remember that Christ can do the impossible.

Personal Supplication
Father in the name of Jesus, in the season of marathon fasting, prayer and waiting upon You, renew my physical and spiritual strength! Is 40:29-31
29 He giveth power to the faint; And to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles; They shall run, and not be weary; And they shall walk, and not faint.

Daily Protection Covenant Declaration
Because I dwell in the secret place of the most High, I shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover me with his feathers, and under his wings shall I trust: his truth shall be my shield and buckler.
I shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand; but it shall not come nigh me.
Only with my eyes shall I behold and see the wicked rewarded.

Because I have made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, my habitation;
There shall no evil befall me neither shall any plague come nigh my dwelling.
For God shall give his angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways.
They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt I trample under feet.
Because I have set my love upon God, therefore will He deliver me: He will set me on high, because I have known His name.
I shall call upon Him, and He will answer me: He will be with me in trouble; He will deliver me, and honour me.

JESUS IS LORD!
