A series of explosions were reported in Kursk and Belgorod

The media and residents of the Kursk and Belgorod regions reported the sounds of explosions. They were distributed around 03:00–03:30 local time. The regional authorities were also informed about the incidents in social networks.

1. A series of explosions have been heard in the early hours of the morning in the Russian city Belgorod near the Ukrainian border, according to the region’s governor.

Vyacheslav Gladkov said in a Telegram message that authorities were trying to establish the location and cause of the explosions.

2. Two loud bangs were heard in the Shilovo neighborhood of the Central Russian city of Voronezh early on Wednesday, a district civil defense and emergency official has told TASS.

"Two loud bangs were heard in the Shilovo neighborhood area. A civil defense and emergency response team and a team of the Russian Emergencies Ministry are currently at the site of the incident. An Investigative Committee official is about to arrive," he said.

Local residents wrote on social networks that air defense systems were operational at around 04:40, and, apparently planes were scrambled twice in the reported period.

The Shilovo neighborhood is located near the Baltimor military airfield and approximately 300 km away from the Ukrainian border.

3. Open fire was extinguished near the village of Staraya Nelidovka in western Russia’s Belgorod Region bordering Ukraine, governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote in his Telegram channel on Wednesday.

According to preliminary information, a fire broke out at an ammunition depot in the area in the early hours of Wednesday.

"The open fire near the village of Staraya Nelidovka has been put out. According to the Belgorod Region’s chief rescue official Sergey Potapov, there have been no civilian casualties," Gladkov wrote.

4. Russian missiles knocked out a strategic railroad bridge along a route that links southern Ukraine’s Odesa port region to neighbouring Romania, Ukrainian authorities have said.

No injuries were reported.
