Another Tuesday, another CChico City Council meeting with an open mic which I use to record messages, address the Council and help others in the community who aren't able to be as open in public..

NOTE: 5/24/22 WAS AN UNUSUAL MEETING. THE CHAMBERS WERE PACKED WITH PARENTS FROM DISTRICT 6 (MY ASSIGNED DISTRICT TOO) WERE THERE TO SHOW CONCERN FOR PUTTING EMERGENCY HOMELESS SHELTER NEXT TO MARSH JUNIOR HIGH IN D6.

WHY in the world would anyone beieve that California is operating like a normal state or that Chico would not have the most unusual homeless disaster in all of the United States of America.

We just opened the largest Pallet Shelter with 177 Pallet Shelters. $2.5M. FANTASTIC PROGRAM AND BEST IDEA IN TERMS OF EMERGENCY SHELTER. But somehow the City Council, Attorney and City Manager did a lousy job of negotiating the deal with the judge, who had us over a barrel because of a number of insane problems raised by the HOMELESS UNION. OUR JOMELESS COMMUNITY IS REPRESENTED. BY A UNION. Anyway, the surprise which prompted all parents in D6 to go to an otherwise boring meeting was.....

WE, THE CITY OF CHICO, MUST HAVE AN EMERGENCY RESTING PLACE TO SEND HOMELESS PEOPLE TO WHO DON'T QUALIFY FOR THE PALLETT SHELTER.
