Commentator Liz Storer says "every struggle requires sacrifice" after prominent US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed her trip to the salon as a form of "resistance" to Roe v Wade's reversal.

The Democratic representative took to Instagram on Friday to tell followers that she would be getting a manicure as a form of “reclamation" following the Supreme Court's overturn of Roe v Wade.

"You brave, brave woman – nothing says fighter like a manicure," Ms Storer told Sky News host Daisy Cousens.

"How do you take this seriously?"
