Very excited to be playing an acoustic opening set for Questfest on Saturday, a 'folk metal' festival put together by Karl from Girthsword Promotions (@Girthsword Promotions ) featuring 9 bands at The Basement in Canberra.

While doing a check on my gear, I thought it would be interesting to record the same song with the two different cheap Shure SM-58 copies that I have.

Sound is just what my Canon IXUS picked up with no processing except some Compression.

The first mic is an Ashton DM-100C that I purchased with the Mega Acoustic Amp about 10 years ago. Looks like you can buy one for about AUS$70:

The second mic, from Swamp Audio, is an iSK 3500, available for AUS$80:

Not sure I can pick the difference, but am leaning towards the iSK, as it seems a little 'warmer'. What do you think?
