Today’s modern crime lords are choosing drug whales over drug mules.

Police in Spain have seized three unmanned drones, each capable of transporting up to 200kg of drugs underwater. The drones were reportedly due to be delivered to French drug dealers, and this is the first time Spanish police have been able to capture this type of vehicle. It’s believed these drones were intended to transport huge amounts of cocaine.

Police also seized 145kg of hashish, 8kg of marijuana and more than $164,000 in cash. Eight people were arrested in the operation, after an investigation lasting 14 months and spanning several countries.

We’re not sure what would happen if one of those drones sprang a leak, but we’re guessing it would involve some very happy fish.
