Mitch McConnell has now threatened Americans that he will join with the Democrats to (once again) lock down the nation. He is running up agains (well-informed) vaccine resistance among the public, where most Americans who have yet to be vaccinated say they are unlikely to get the shot and doubt that it works against the (so-called) Delta variant: 45% say they definitely will not be vaxxed, with 35% more declaring they probably will not. Just 3% say they definitely will get the show, another 16% will probably. The difference in attitude results from differing cost-benefit analyses, where, if COVID is real and the vax is good, you either help yourself or, if COVID is fake, endure an inconvenience; but if the vax is bad (for which we have overwhelming evidence), then taking the vax will lead to serious harm or even death. The anti-vaxxers have the better of the argument and are displaying higher rationality than those who take it.
