Russia claims victory over Ukrainian forces in Lysychansk

On this episode of Global National: Russia is claiming victory in Ukraine's eastern Luhansk region after capturing the final holdout of Lysychansk, a city that is key to control of the Donbas. As David Akin reports, Russia's advances would now shift the battlefield focus to neighbouring Donetsk, where Ukraine still holds substantial territory.
In Canada, a 13-year-old girl from Edmonton who went missing more than a week ago is back with her family, following an exhaustive international search. The girl disappeared after leaving her home for school, and was only found on Saturday. A 41-year-old Oregon man is now in custody and facing charges of child luring in connection with her disappearance. Morgan Black with the latest.
Plus, this busy holiday weekend is notorious for creating travel headaches, as millions hit the roads and skies to celebrate with friends and family. But a computer scheduling glitch at American Airlines and a nationwide pilot shortage has led to an unusually high number of flight cancellations as drivers deal with record high gas prices.
