I am a hypocrite.

By definition, a hypocrite is a person who claims beliefs that his actions do not conform to.

Luke 13:10-17

Who Was In Charge?

Leader In Charge of the Synagogue:

His Duties:

1. He was responsible for the building.

2. He was responsible for the public service, who would read the Scripture for the day

3. He made sure the services started on time.

4. He was to make sure everything was in decently and in order

5. Keep all distractions away.

6. HE WAS NOT THE SPIRITUAL LEADER

What His Anger Teaches And Warns Us About Religious Hypocrisy and Hypocrisy In General:

Hypocrisy Blinds Our Ability To Discern Truth.

The leader of the Synagogue could not ever recognize that God was in the house.

The leader of the Synagogue could not ever recognize that Satan was in the house.

Every Sunday, there is a battle going on in this place.
Discernment directs us to whom receives the victory.

Satan was manifested in the women for 18 years!

Satan desires to cripple and immobilize you SPIRITUALLY!

Satan will allow you to go to church, just sit, be quiet and defeated.

The Leader of Synagogue missed his opportunity to worship God because of anger.

Hypocrisy Boldly Claims Power Over Others To Which We Do Not Have.

He made a very stupid statement, “There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd. “Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.”

Q. Who was going to do the healing when Jesus leaves?

Hypocrisy allows us to make some pretty bad statements.

Jesus uses the word, “untie” or “loose” in verse 15, what he was pointing out is that your hypocrisy is so bad you treat animals better that you treat people.

People are in the image of God and some of them are bound and broken, where is your compassion?

Hypocrisy Binds Us And Others Around Us .

There is no freedom in this mans life.

He loved the rules and rigidness of Law but missed, or forgot the verse in:

Micah 6:8, No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

When he saw the woman he should have been moved with compassion.

SHE WAS AFFLICTED PHYSICALLY

SHE WAS ATTACKED SPIRITUALLY

SHE WAS AFFECTED SOCIALLY

Hypocrisy Blatantly Lives Another Life And Is Run By Another Set Of Rules

Jesus points this out very openly to all who listened.

The greek word “hypocrite” means actor, you are playing a part.

In his anger, he felt the power not only confront Jesus, but others as well.

He did not follow the rules he was laying down for others to follow.

If you don’t lives by rules you lay down for other people, be quiet.

Application

People Do Not Care How Spiritual You Think You Are.

People Come To Houses Of Worship To See And Feel The Power Of God Displayed.

People Lose All Respect For Believers Who Preach Messages They Do Follow Themselves.

It Is Not About You Or Your Title.

We Are Have The Ability To Miss What God Is Doing Around Us.

Do Not Miss Jesus Today.

Spiritual Hypocrisy Is Manifested Externally But Changed Internally.

-Let love cover other peoples sins

-Limit your unrealistic expectations of others

-Learn that everyone is fighting a battle
