Fire Totals Pickup, LIVINGSTON, July 2, 2022 - At approximately 4:30 pm on July 2, 2022, the driver of a Dodge pickup had his truck parked near the entrance of Lakeside Village (subdivision just south of Livingston City Limits). An apparent electrical problem caused the engine compartment to ignite. Within minutes the engine compartment and cab was engulfed in flames. Livingston Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies Terri Mayer and Corporal Rey Davalos with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Firemen extinguished the fire, but the truck was totaled. There were no injuries in this incident.
