Bad Rider - Child Riding on Mt Herman Rd

Please do not drag your child out to ride and take them down Mt Herman Rd (ROAD), it's not for OHV use and I have seen Rangers escort people off and/or ticket them and also have watched them call the Sheriff on them and they also respond. This is a busy mountain road, not a place you take your child to ride an unplated dirt bike.

I'm sorry but this is bad parenting. Funny to see on the FB forums people act like this is okay. First off it brings the cops and rangers out should something happen which no one wants them out here more to harass people. Also it makes us as riders look bad, you know damn well the people in those vehicles were like WTF!

I also was told "Maybe you don't know their circumstances", "they could have been lost". Um lost in the Town of Monument, CO? Because there are no trails down lower. There are not even "trails" per say anywhere around here. This is just a very poor place to teach your child how to ride.

This seems to be more and more common and I also from time to time take this road in the truck...it indeed is a very dangerous road. I leave near it and I only use it because it's access to higher up...doubt this child is riding to Rampart Range Rd and doing a huge loop on that bike. The first trail (Jeep side trail) is probably another 5 miles to go. It would have been better to haul up, unload and ride the side trails. That i could see and it would be legal with a OHV sticker.

It's funny how i shat on so many Dad's I guess for being a horrible Dad. If you think taking your child riding on Mt Herman Rd is cool or the right spot I really do have to Judge you as a rider trying to get stuff closed down to us. Not cool at all...
