Federal Unemployment Benefits Expire As Trump Pivots to China

As the economic situation continues to deteriorate in the US, I would have expected Trump to try and buy support for re-election by doubling down on the already exorbitant $600 per week in federal unemployment benefits. In reality however, the administration has allowed these benefits to expire, thus casting the democrats as the more profligate spenders in Washington when it comes to this issue. What Trump has done recently however is ramp up rhetoric and actions against Communist China. This I believe is an attempt to pivot away from an impossible grim domestic landscape and focus on the attention of Americans on a common enemy that Trump promises to defend them against.
