Template Design Group, 2022-06-30, Kickoff Meeting

Kickoff meeting for the Template Design effort.

DEFINITION. A Survival Team is an organized group of people who plan to cooperate and co-locate in order to, among other things, implement adequate security defenses during the aftermath of a societal collapse. The primary purpose of co-location is to provide more personnel for the defense of a common security perimeter.

It may not be obvious at first, but written agreements are extremely important when forming a survival team (aka MAG, Crew, Tribe, Group, etc) since we may be living in close proximity and making hard decisions in an austere environment during stressful times.

THEREFORE, The Template Design Group is trying to design a set of template documents and Survival Teams can use to give them a starting point for customization. This is in hope that more Survival Teams will stay together and not dissolve due to misunderstandings or interpersonal relationship problems.

MEETING SUMMARY:

Attendees: Mike, Scott, Lisa, James L

In this meeting we gave an overview of what the Template Design Group TDG is trying to do, who we are trying to help, the scope of the work, and we talked about the types of issues that need to be addressed.

We decided to focus on the Mission Statement first. A couple of people in the TDG have experience with writing mission statements.

I have attached a Survival Team mission statement for consideration.

ACTION ITEMS (for everyone):

* Think about the attached mission statement and ways to improve Items

* Prepare to share your thoughts about mission statements, how to make one, and what should be in one.

* Try writing a Survival Team mission statement that includes the things you think are important.
