Tangerine Tree Volume 41: Space Is The Place presents an anthology of live tracks taken from various concerts between May 1973 and October 1976. Disc 1 starts with all three parts of the live recording of the unreleased Oedipus Tyrannus album, Overture, Zeus and Baroque (all Chichester, August 18th, 1974), followed by an excerpt of the concert in Bradford on November 26th, 1974 (here titled Crimson Moon) and a long excerpt of the gig in Birmingham almost a year later, on October 12th, 1975 (titled Mellowtronic).

Disc 2 features five more live excerpts: Magnetic Winds (Berlin, October 13th, 1974), Black Sun (Les Ponts de Cé, May 20th, 1973, already released on Tangerine Leaves Volume 17: Les Ponts de Cé 1973), Perihelion (London, October 22nd, 1975), Echodrive Galaxy (Brighton, June 10th, 1976), and Shadowplay (Hanover, October 20th, 1976).
