In Ottawa, Jean-Yves Duclos (federal minister of health) outlines new labelling regulations for packaged foods. Manufacturers have until January 1, 2026, to feature new symbols on the front of packages that are high in sugar, sodium, and saturated fat. Minister Duclos is joined by Francis Drouin (parliamentary secretary to the minister of agriculture and agri-food) Yasir Naqvi (MP for Ottawa Centre), as well as Dr. Andrew Pipe (Heart and Stroke Foundation), and Ann Besner (Diabetes Canada).
