Lyme Disease: Current Update: 30 Years of Illness, Disulfram Success, and the Future

This is a long-overdue follow-up to my previous two Lyme Disease videos, covering my nearly lifelong battle with this awful tick-borne illness. A lot has happened in the 18 months since my previous video: I've completed the three treatments outline below, received a mostly clean bill of health, and I have moved on to what (we hope) will be my final stage of treatment: dynamic neural retraining to "rewire" my brain's learned behaviors, caused by Lyme spirochetes and thirty years of coping mechanisms, PTSD, and trauma. We've been trying for Baby Benton for nearly two years at this point, and I've started acupuncture for fertility treatments.

I'm sharing my entire Lyme Disease treatment protocol here:

I was bit by a tick in 1991, when I was seven years old, and went through many years of treatment in childhood, before it went into remission. After that, I thought I was "cured" but was only in remission. Symptoms came back with a vengeance in my mid-twenties. I received a positive Lyme Disease test in March 2018; my first appointment with an LLMD was in June 2018, and he also gave me a clinical diagnosis of Bartonella and Babesia. He chose to treat Babesia first, then Lyme, and Bartonella last.

For Babesia, he did a "parasite cleanse" which included five anti-parasitics and anti-malarials.
*Atovaquone A.K.A. Malarone 250mg 2 pills 2x day for about 6 months (an anti-malarial similar to Hydroxychloroquine, this ended a lot of my Babesia symptoms!).
*Albenza 200mg 2 pills 1x day for 20 days.
*Ivermectin 3mg, I can't read the prescription, but only 8 pills, over a few days. (yes, commonly used for dog de-worming, but also used for general random parasites in people).
*Biltricide 600mg, I can't read the prescription, but only 6 pills, over a few days.
*Alinia 500mg 1x day for 60 days.

For Lyme, my LLMD gave me antibiotic treatment very similar to Dr. Horowitz' protocol in his book "Why Can't I Get Better". He would make minor adjustments at each 3-month visit, based on how I was responding. Sometimes he would switch to a different antibiotic in the same family, which can help get past "plateaus" in treatment.
*Azithromycin 500mg 1x day.
*Tinidazole 125mg 3x day 3days/week (fluctuating with Metronidazole, same antibiotic family).
*Minocycline 100mg 2x day (fluctuating with Doxycycline, same antibiotic family).

General Vitamins/Supplements:
*High-dose wide-spectrum Probiotics and Prebiotics 3x day (because antibiotics destroy my gut health, and I had constant stomach aches from pills).
*Fluconizole 200mg 1x day 3 days/week (for yeast, from prolonged antibiotic use).
*Lactoferrin 300mg 1x day (for bio-film softening and antibiotic boost).
*Prenatal Vitamins (best general vitamins, even if not trying to conceive).
*Vitamin D3 5,000IU high-dose daily
*NAC (aids in the body's production of glutathione, which is a natural way to stimulate detox).

Dr. Buhner's "Lyme Collagen Protocol", from his book Healing Lyme Naturally. This is not a treatment, but is for chronic Lyme people, and those during- and post-treatment, because the bacteria actually depletes our bodies of a lot of nutrients. So this is for replenishing the body from what the bacteria steals:
*Silicone 3mL 1x day
*Alpha Lipoic Acid 600mg 1x day
*Glucosamine Sulfate 750mg 2x day
*Vitamin E with Selenium 400IU 1x day

Dr. Buhner's "Herbal Treatment Protocol", from the same book. It involves taking four herbs, slowly scaling up to pretty high doses.
*Cat's Claw
*Andrographis
*Resveratrol (Japanese Knotweed)
*Astragalus

Finally: Disulfram. I reached target dose of Disulfram March 2020, stayed at that does for six months, and stopped September 2020. I was well enough to stop the herbal protocol in September 2020, and stop antibiotics by the end of October 2020.
Remember, if a doctor followed the CDC guidelines for Lyme Disease, I would be given two weeks of one antibiotic, and told that I have been cured. If my symptoms persisted, I would be told that I have Post-Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome, which is a magical illness with no known cause and no known treatment. How convenient!
