African Lion is the US Africa Command's first and largest annual exercise, with more than 7,500 troops participating from June 6-30.

The African Lion 22 project will be implemented in four countries: Morocco, Ghana, Senegal and Tunisia. Armies from Brazil, Chad, France, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom will join the United States and the host nation's forces. African Lion 22 features a joint task force command exercise, a joint live-fire weapons exercise, a naval exercise, an air exercise involving bomber aircraft, a joint forced entry with paratroopers in a field exercise, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear response exercise, and a civilian humanitarian assistance program event.
