I guess it was in 2004 at the RNC I interviewed and almost got ejected surrounded by secret service people at the RNC the republican national convention. After looking on the floor for a log cabin or a gay republican I found one in California. it was fascinating how like people would call me over and go I think there's one in California and head over there… I interviewed this guy and I just recently looked at it he was a guy who I suspect was in his 60s and I'm like how can you stay in this party when they are treating you like a second-class citizen I mean George Bush had gone in front of the nation at prime time and said I wanna we want to put an anti-gay marriage amendment in the constitution.
