Didier Raoult is a microbiologist, a specialist in infectious diseases, a university professor and hospital practitioner at Aix-Marseille University and the University Hospitals of Marseille, and director of the Mediterranean Infection University Hospital Institute Foundation (IHU).

Winner of the Inserm grand prize in 2010, he studies complex viruses and bacteria with his team in Marseille.

The University Hospital Institute of Infectious Diseases of Marseille ( IHU Méditerranée Infection) hosted the "International Covid Summit" for two days, organized by the association RéInfoLiberté and the Syndicat Enseignement Recherche Liberté. McCULLOUGH (USA), cardiologist; Professor Harvey RISCH (USA), epidemiologist; Professor Stéphanie GENTILE, Professor of Medicine at AP-HM; Doctor Gérard MAUDRUX, surgeon-urologist; Doctor Pierre SONIGO, molecular biologist and virologist, director of research at INSERM; Doctor Vincent PAVAN, mathematician; Doctor Laurent MUCCHIELI, sociologist, director of research at CNRS.
