Electricity experts have called the power system infiltrated by wind and solar irreparably disfunctional. These highly subsidised renewables have sidelined baseload power which is unable to compete resulting them being retired from the system. Additionally, stringent regulations have made approving gas power a tough proposition, with the added uncertainty of being profitable against renewables.
