Friday Morning Devotion from Bethany Church, August 21, 2020

For our Friday devotion we return back to the letters of Samuel Rutherford and today we read as Rutherford wrote a wife and mother, a Mrs. Pont, who had been arrested with her husband who was minister in Raphoe, a town in County Donegal, Ireland for holding worship services that violated the law of the land. Rutherford writes to her from St. Andrews and speaks to her about the blessings of having Christ to hear her cries and the need for Christians to not smart under hard providences, but give thanks for the grace of her savior to bear her through these times.
