STRAIGHT DISC Chisel plow/Kioti RX7320. Do STRAIGHT DISCS do anything? Illinois land management

Recently I purchased a home made disc chisel plow hybrid tractor implement and have been using it behind my Kioti RX7320 to turn over all of my food plots for wildlife management on our Southern Illinois farm for good soil preparation for planting my fall food plots. In the last few videos of showing this disc chisel plow in action we've had a lot of comments suggesting that the straight discs don't actually do anything. Some suggesting that they just 'roll over the ground...' (Even though they are very sharp, and have about a half ton of gravity weight pushing down on them, and the chisels in back putting downward pressure on the discs). So, in the interest of education for us all, because we are constantly learning here at Kapper Outdoors, I thought we'd look at some John Deere tillage implements that are designed the exact same way, and hear from someone who is more of an expert that I am, and probably more than many of you as well. Here is the video link to the video I will reference here, special thanks to Ken from Crop Tech Consulting.
