The Lady and the Mason (Masonic Poem)

This story is about a woman who is desirous of learning the secrets about Freemasonry and tries to use all of her feminine wiles and charms to achieve that end. After approaching her father and brother unsuccessfully, she decides to change her tactics and seduce her oath-bound fiancée whom she reasons will be an easier target. Will our stalwart brother fall prey to her feminine charms or manage keep his sacred oath in tact? Told as a humorous “tavern tale,” this account relates the age old story of the animated battle of wills between the sexes with a happy ending for all concerned.
