Chicago Bears Now is LIVE with more Bears news & rumors as host Harrison Graham gets you caught up on the latest Bears headlines during the 2022 NFL Offseason. Harrison hits the following stories & segments on today’s show:
- Luke Getsy hype train? The Athletic posted an article of “40 Under 40” focusing on NFL coaches, executives and agents on the rise. The Bears new offensive coordinator, Luke Getsy, was mentioned in the article as he’s drawn rave reviews since leaving the Packers for Chicago. Getsy is excited to work with QB Justin Fields as that relationship is critical to the Bears offense having success in 2022.
- NFL Draft 2023: ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller released his latest NFL mock draft and he has the Chicago Bears selecting Ohio State WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba with the #2 overall pick. This Bears mock draft was based on ESPN’s FPI which is why the Bears had the 2nd pick. Smith-Njigba leads a loaded WR draft class and would give Justin Fields a premiere weapon on the outside.
- David Montgomery is the latest Bears player to publicly talk about the 2022 NFL Season and preach confidence. He told Jarrett Payton, the son of Walter Payton, of WGN that “we are going to shock a lot of people” this season. Will the Bears be the surprise team of the NFL this year?
- Bears Cut Candidates: ESPN released its 53-man roster projection for Da Bears and some notable names did not make the cut including WR Dazz Newsome, OL Lachavious Simmons, DT Mike Pennel and rookie safety Elijah Hicks. Bears head coach Matt Eberflus and GM Ryan Poles will have some tough decisions to make when they trim down the Bears roster from 90 to 53 players.
