An Old Combine Elevator Chain Becomes My Newest Treestand Ladder | The DRT Shop | In the Field

Summer 2020 - A scrap 2366 combine (Case IH) elevator chain and a useless old mower blade have new uses after going through The Dusty, Rusty, and Trusty Shop (The DRT Shop). The elevator chain is modified to be used as a treestand ladder. While the old mower blade is converted into a gambrel (I call it a deer hanger). Like most of the things that come through The DRT Shop, they don't look pretty but these pieces of scrap now have new purpose. After lots of welding, this old junk has new purpose in the field. It is the same way with the Holy Spirit who must do lots of cleaning and polishing and welding to the believers of Christ so that we might be set apart (sanctified) for the Kingdom. But through the power of the Holy Spirit we are made new and find new life and purpose with God.

From a young age Derek has always loved the outdoors, especially hunting the family farm he grew up on. He'd spend his free time hunting or watching outdoor television. Though it seemed to him that all mainstream hunting shows were either secular or pagan. The one true God of all creation was absent. All outdoorsmen loved the creation but they didn't know the God who made it. Feeling the need to call this nation of hunters and outdoorsmen back to the Lord, In the Field was born.

In the Field is a faith based, online, hunting show. We tell the story of Derek's hunts through the words of scripture. We demonstrate how the Bible is the living Word, applicable to the hunt and, more importantly, essential for our life journey. From death to life, through Jesus Christ.
Our Mission Is...
To make disciples of this nation of hunters and outdoorsmen and to honor God.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"-Matthew 28:19

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."-Romans 1:20
