Friday Morning Devotion from Bethany Church, September 4, 2020

For our Friday devotion we return back to the letters of Samuel Rutherford and today we read as Rutherford wrote to two ladies, the wife of John Murray and Lady Kenmure. In each letter Rutherford is concerned to show the need of the believer to trust in the providence of God. That for the Christian, since Heaven is our home, that we need not concern ourselves too much with this present evil world, but spend the time that we have preparing ourselves for the Celestial City and resting in Jesus's mercy and grace by spending our time not grumbling, by in quiet, peaceable rest.
