Remake of Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey

In this video we are doing a remake of our oatmeal, milk, and honey soap. It is one of our best sellers and we are always remaking it. This time, however, we decided not to add any fragrance or colorants to it so that more people with sensitive skin would be able to use it. The first batch we made we added the diluted honey directly to the oils. We thought it was fully incorporated, but the soap overheated (as many soaps with milks and honey will do) and the honey got scorched. It was so disappointing to unmold the soap only to find it leaking burnt honey. So for this batch we added the honey to the lye solution and made a smaller batch. It still overheated causing a crack in the top, but that is easily remedied by quickly putting it in the refrigerator (next time we will do that as soon as we make the soap). If you'd like to see the pictures of the burnt honey or the cracked top- head over to our instagram account. Thanks for watching!
