The Grasshopper - Made Four Ways | Master Your Glass

On this episode of G I make four versions of the Grasshopper Cocktail coming from 4 different and reliable sources: Dale Degroff’s Craft of the Cocktail, Gary Regan’s Joy of Mixology, Death & Co., and Tujague’s New Orleans Restaurant.

Grasshopper from The Craft of The Cocktail
1 oz. (30ml) white crème de cacao
1 oz. (30ml) green crème de menthe
2 oz. (60ml) Fresh Cream
Instructions: Combine the ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a Cocktail glass.

Grasshopper from The Joy of Mixology
1.5 oz. (45ml) white crème de cacao
1.5 oz. (45ml) green crème de menthe
1 oz. (30ml) Fresh Cream
Instructions: Combine the ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a Cocktail glass. Top the drink with grated nutmeg.

Grasshopper from The Death & Co. Cocktail Book
8 Muddled Mint leaves
1 oz. (30ml) white crème de cacao
1 oz. (30ml) green crème de menthe
2 oz. (60ml) Fresh Cream
Instructions: Gently muddle 8 mint leaves in a shaker. Add all liquid ingredients; fill with ice and shake vigorously. Fine strain into a Cocktail glass.

Grasshopper from Tujague’s
1 oz. white crème de cacao
½ oz. dark crème de cacao
½ oz. green crème de menthe
¼ oz. white crème de menthe
2½ oz. heavy whipping cream
⅛ oz. brandy
Instructions: Combine the first 5 ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a flute. Pouring slowly, top the drink with a float of brandy.
