Tallest geyser in the world but it’s not predictable

Interval between eruptions varies from several days to several years

After no eruptions for several years, Steamboat Geyser began erupting again in 2018, averaging about 40 eruptions each year for the subsequent 3 years.

The interval leading up to the eruption in this video was 26 days, the longest interval in 3 years.

The next eruption was July 8th 2021 after an interval of 37 days

At the time of this notation, it has been 40 days since the July 8th eruption and i it still hasn’t erupted

Steamboat may be slowing down and heading into another quiet period with longer and longer intervals between eruptions

I was very fortunate to capture this view and it was an incredible experience!
