Top Gun: Maverick Passes $1B & Lightyear FLOPS HARD! People Are DONE With Films That HATE THEM!

Defying all expectations and with another massive weekend ahead, Top Gun: Maverick becomes the first Billion Dollar film of 2022 and the largest Box Office of Tom Cruise's career. It's beyond comprehension how well this film is performing, but if you analyze it, it shouldn't be. Maverick was made for the fans. It was made with care, went through hell and the fans respect it for that very reason. Pundits will scoff at the Pro-American message, but how do you explain the nearly 50-50 split in Foreign and Domestic earnings? You can't honestly without factoring in word of mouth spread about it just being an apolitical film that delivers.

Lightyear on the other hand, should have made easy bank. It's apart of a beloved franchise, it had a notable cast and the Disney logo on it. But it flopped, like an obese diver, bigly. It's passionless, it's formulaic, it's pushing a narrative over good writing. It's casting decisions are bizarre and the cast themselves aren't doing the film any favors. Chris Evans, Captain America is how people know him, is an insufferable twat when it comes to proselytizing the public on his progressive beliefs. Lesbian kiss in a kids' movie aside, people are tired of the agenda, they just want an escape.

Top Gun: Maverick succeeds because it doesn't hate it's audience. Lightyear failed because it doesn't understand that simple reason.
