Sideshow - Rio Linda Boulevard and Eleanor Avenue - August 30, 2020

On Sunday, August 30th, Sacramento Police Department officers responded to reports of a large sideshow at Rio Linda Boulevard and Eleanor Avenue in North Sacramento. On scene, officers were immediately met with a hostile crowd. Those in the crowd threw objects at officers, including fireworks. They also pointed dangerous green lasers at a police helicopter and were non-compliant when officers attempted to disperse the sideshow. Three people were arrested.
Sideshows are inherently dangerous and tie up police resources, which is why those that participate can be charged with crimes that carry significant penalties. Even spectators can be arrested and charged.
The Sacramento Police Department is committed to keep our community and officers safe, which is why we will be taking maximum enforcement action on those involved in these types of incidents.
