Abstract
The intent of this video is to petition for a grant from the Kentucky Historical Society for the purposes of research on Bakers Station, a settler station built in Kentucky in the spring of 1790. The research of Bakers Station is pivotal to the American story as settlers pushed further west into the wilderness. This proposal hopes to better compile and document the history of Bakers Station so that its legacy can be carried forward, giving aid to both local and national historians to answer the important questions surrounding of nineteenth century westward expansion. In budgeting for this grant, it is estimated that it cost no more than $1,549.00, which will cover books that are out-of-print as well as photography equipment. All research at the completion will be turned over to the Library of Congress under the title of “Bakers Station – The Lost Station”.
