Constitution Day Panel 2: Election Law and Election Fraud
The Left is using COVID-19 as an excuse to advance long-held goals that completely undermine the election system, including universal vote by mail (with ballots sent to every registered voter on notoriously inaccurate voter rolls, whether the ballots are requested or not), ballot harvesting (allowing anyone to collect and turn in ballots, which comes with a huge risk of voter intimidation and outright fraud), elimination of voter ID, and more.
Panelists:
John Eastman - John is the founding director of the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence at the Claremont Institute. He was an early Publius Fellow at the Claremont Institute, and a former clerk for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. John is currently the Henry Salvatori Professor of Law and Community Service at Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law and is a member of the distinguished faculty who teach our John Marshall Fellows. He is also the 2020-2021 Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Hans von Spakovsky - Hans is an authority on a wide range of issues—including civil rights, civil justice, the First Amendment, immigration, the rule of law and government reform—as a senior legal fellow in The Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies and manager of the think tank’s Election Law Reform Initiative.
Tara Ross - Tara is nationally recognized for her expertise on the Electoral College and has written numerous books on the subject, including, most recently, Why We Need the Electoral College (2019). Her Prager University video, “Do You Understand the Electoral College?”, is Prager's most-viewed video ever, with more than 64 million views. Tara often appears as a guest on a variety of talk shows nationwide and regularly addresses civic, university, and legal audiences. She's also contributed to many law reviews and newspapers, including the National Law Journal, USA Today, the Washington Examiner, The Hill, The Washington Times, and FoxNews.com. Tara is a retired lawyer and a former Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Review of Law & Politics.
Tim Canova - Tim is a Professor of Law and Public Finance at NSU Shepard Broad College of Law, with broad experience in law teaching, private practice, and public policy. He taught most recently at the Chapman University School of Law in Orange County, California, where he served as associate dean for academic affairs and the Betty Hutton Williams Professor of International Economic Law. In 2016, Tim ran against Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23) in the Florida Democratic Party’s primary election.
