Copperhead snake in the Shawnee National Forest Illinois

Sept 2020. Living down here in a very rural area of Southern Illinois we come across a lot of wildlife ON the roads and along the roads! Today was not different, as I came across a beautiful near 4 foot copperhead snake. At first I was not sure if it had been run over or not, but once I got out and got near it I quickly got the answer!! As it coiled up in defense, I knew that it had not been run over! I grabbed my snake tongue to gently guide it off of the road so that the next car would not run it over! We live in an area that is surrounded by the Shawnee National forest. Unfortunately most people would not think twice and run this beautiful creature over! Thanks for joining me today, please hit the Like button and share this video, perhaps to help people pay more attention to trying to NOT run over snakes on the highways! Thank you!
