Why is the border CRISIS Being encouraged?!

From Congressman Crenshaw: "Our asylum laws are being abused. The bill I’m writing will close some of the most exploited asylum loopholes. Instead of only being able to apply for asylum once migrants cross the border, the bill would aim to establish offices abroad where asylum claims would be made and applicants would await adjudication there, rather than in the US. My bill would also funnel migrants to ports of entry - applying for asylum between these points is what is overwhelming our Border Patrol Agents and allowing the cartels to bring drugs into our country as agents struggle to process large groups of migrants. We would also close the “membership in a particular social group” loophole thats definition has be left open to a wide variety of interpretations.
These are simple policy fixes that the Biden Admin can do to solve the border crisis that they so callously created".
