I miss the sunsets, orange and red
I miss the singing highway, beneath my bed
I miss windshield lovebugs dying in the throes of passion
I miss thundering skies, filled with lightnin flashin
I miss fighting my eyes to push on through exhaustion
Aided by a lukewarm caffeinated truck stop concoction
I miss the yellow oceans of grain
On the straight roads and tedious ,windy kansas plane
I miss the heart pounding thrill
The sweaty palms while descending a hill
I miss straight pipes and jakes brakes
I miss downshifting gears without mistakes
I miss the pride in my chest
Back when life still has zest
