Ralph K. Ginorio 117-EDU: Task Force Recommendations

Recorded for Idaho Lieutenant Governor Janet McGeachin's Gubernatorial Campaign's Education Task Force, I offer these fundamental recommendations as a real program to improve Idaho's schools.
1. Oppose CRT by requiring all Idaho High School Graduates to take and pass a course on the history of Western Civilization.
2. Replace the current Teacher Certification System with a straightforward Apprenticeship, replacing worse than useless pedagogy with practical experience.
3. Eliminate the Assessment/Curricular Bureaucracy at the State and District levels, eliminate their mandates, restore real authority to Classroom Teachers, allow Teachers to innovate, then hold them accountable for results. This would involve breaking the power of Teacher's Unions; a very good idea.
4. Transfer the resources currently spent on the Bureaucracy to develop a real class of Educational Technician para-professionals who can earn a living long-term as real partners to Teachers when students with special needs are involved. An Army with officers (Teachers) and Privates (students) with no Sergeants (Ed. Techs.) is doomed.
Thanks to all who spent the time to listen!
Ralph
