On Friday, March 11, I submitted a "Keep Right" Op-Ed column, “Ukranian flaws do not justify war.” In that column, I wrote with an obnoxious edge that did no one credit.

I wrote of those with whom I have a principled disagreement as being “unsophisticated zealots” who are part of a “fringe group.” I recant these words and repent of the attitude of unwarranted contempt that they reveal.

I am not the arbiter of truth, right or proportion. I have my judgment, which I express freely. They have theirs. Good and wise people can disagree about some pretty important things. On the Ukraine, we disagree, quite intensely so!

But, in disagreeing, I was needlessly disagreeable. In this I was wrong. I make no excuse, and beg their pardon, and yours.
